With over 7 years of experience in design, upholstery and furnishing design, Holly has firmly established herself in the industry, transforming spaces into stunning, functional works of art. Her business, Houndstooth Interiors Ltd, recently earned the prestigious award for Best Small Business in the area, solidifying its reputation as a leader in the field.

Holly’s journey into design began at a very young age when she fully renovated her own dollhouse using sample stock from local trade shops, experimenting with various wallpapers, paints, textiles and floor coverings. Her enthusiasm led her to enter numerous design and fashion awards, further fuelling her passion. This drive to create inspired her to pursue a Visual Arts Degree, followed by a trade apprenticeship in upholstery, where she perfected the art of crafting bespoke furniture pieces that seamlessly blend beauty and functionality.

After completing her apprenticeship, Holly worked as a furniture designer, collaborating with clients to create custom pieces for homes and businesses. These experiences sharpened her keen eye for detail and deep understanding of how fabrics, textures, and colours can enhance the overall aesthetic and feel of a space. Recognising her growing passion for holistic design, Holly pursued a diploma in interior design, quickly gaining recognition for her exceptional use of colour and innovative concepts.

Now, with a thriving business and a portfolio of projects spanning the North Island, Holly frequently travels to design out-of-town spaces. She works on projects of all scales, from architectural builds to small renovations and room transformations. Her recently completed interior design studio in Taupo offers clients the opportunity to walk in, discuss their projects, and explore a curated selection of samples in a welcoming environment.
